Tour Dallas

Saturday morning, Dad and I rode in the Tour Dallas. We’ve been doing this for several years now, and we had a great time. Here are some photos. A guy ran into me as I was riding in a straight line near the curb at a moderate pace – I did nothing wrong! But he over-corrected when he saw me and ended up falling over and hitting his head on the curb. I went back to make sure he was okay, which he was. That was the only drama of the morning this year. The weather was beautiful – cool, clear, and sunny. The economy has taken its toll – there were not as many people as there have been in years past, and not as many vendors. That’s not good for the organization, but it was actually much more pleasant for the riders – there were no bottlenecks whatsoever. I count myself very lucky to have a father who loves to do stuff like this with me. We’re gearing up to hike the Grand Canyon in a couple of weeks, and our legs needed some exercise. The Trinity River Bed actually had some water in it, and the route near downtown was beautiful in the early morning. My brother Jeff got a flat tire at the start line, so he ran around White Rock while Lisa, Gina, and Chandler biked. It was a fun day!
