I went on another business trip last week, this time to Springfield, MO. I figured this would be a quick trip to a boring place, but it turns out Springfield is the birthplace of Route 66! My hotel ended up being right on it, and I had dinner at one of the original Steak n Shake’s right across the street.

I also found a few Route 66 landmarks (including the Solo cup factory below) on my way to the best frozen custard I’ve ever had! This was seriously amazing stuff, people. It was a vanilla base with strawberries and chocolate chips mixed in. I couldn’t even drive and eat this stuff, and I’m a serious multi-tasker – I just sat in the parking lot and ate every bite. Check out Andy’s Custard if you’re in town (thanks to Rob for the tip)!
